UCF Real Estate Students ‘Sell’ Plans to Local Developers

(UCF) - Planning and developing real estate that will actually survive during these economic times is a challenge for the most seasoned professionals.

That’s why the first NAIOP Challenge at the University of Central Florida is such an invaluable experience for students in the university’s real estate school.

The challenge, sponsored by NAIOP, the National Association of Industrial and Office Properties, is to create a “realistic” development plan for a 10-acre spot in the Central Florida Research Park. The prize includes $2,000 for the winning team, a trophy and a chance for a professional developer to take the winning plan or parts of it and develop it. Even more important, say organizers, is the real world experience the students get before they head into the market place.
